Natalie’s Creamy Wild Mushroom Soup

Ingredients:
3 tbsp of butter
1 large onion, chopped
2 shallots, chopped
120g of Swiss brown mushrooms, chopped
100g of White mushrooms, chopped 
4 cups of chicken stock
1 cup of thickened cream
1 tbsp of mixed herbs
Salt and pepper to taste 

Steps:
1. Saute onions in butter. Add in mushrooms and saute till mushrooms are soft.
2. Add in the 4 cups of chicken stock, add in the cream.
3. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Add in the mixed herbs.
5. Serve with Meiji’s Garlic toast (YUMMEH snack)

Macarons from Lindt Chocolate Cafe.
These were my first macarons in Australia. They were about AUD 3/piece.
They were not as good as the ones from La Renaissance Cafe Patisserie or Nathalie’s Gourment Studio but compared to the others that I tried in Malaysia, these were good. They were a bit too sweet for me but the texture of the macarons were just right. The sweetness was probably heightened due to the fact that I had a whole cup of hazelnut hot chocolate with it. Too much sweetness in a half an hour O.o

 So, here’s the story…
The day before (Friday) I sent him messages on whatsapp but he didn’t read any of it..(you know how whatsapp indicate read messages as double ticks and sent messages as a single tick..his chatbox showed a single tick so I knew they were sent)
Edit: A single tick means the message successfully delivered to the server and the double tick means the message succesfully delivered to the device of the chat partner. (quoted from Pui Ee, thanks for the clarification!)

He text-ed me from his cell saying that whatsapp is giving him grief too and it was acting up. My messages to everybody else was sent and read so it can’t be only him..so I was suspicious but I let it pass. So it was just like any normal text conversation, asking how his day was..yada yada yada..
My second suspicion was that he was telling me that JP didn’t know about my graduation so I asked him why was he asking about JP? *TING TING TING* light bulb moment..
Deep down I wished he was back but I kept telling myself not to hope, it couldn’t happen, especially not when I’m jetting off to Australia in 5 days. I thought, nah, he wouldn’t make the short trip up just for me..but he did and I love him for it.

I may not cry nor scream  when you called, speaking calmly and asking me to look around and finally catching sight of you but I’m truly touched that you came..that you flew 7.5 hours and 5588 km just to share this moment with me. Thank you, babe. Honestly, I didn’t know you were capable of such surprises, such a sweet gesture, I feel so loved. I won’t complain anymore >.< hehehe

I forgot what this was called but it was on the Tapas menu at Alexis, Jalan Telawi, Bangsar.

And my all time favourite cookie…Macarons :)
Sorry there aren’t individual photos of the macaron itself (cause they all went into the stomach) >.<

I would have to say, Nathalie’s still the best out of the ones I’ve tried, Babycakes takes 2nd place.
To date, I’ve tried Babycakes (G Tower, KL), Nathalie’s (Solaris Dutamas), Whisk’s (Empire Subang), Molten Lava (1 Utama) and Serai’s (Empire Subang).

I like how at Nathalie’s, they wrap your macarons in plastic containers and take the time to tie a ribbon around the box as if it’s a gift :) Presentation is everything for them, I like..

Next stop: Levain!
(They just had to NOT make macarons on the Monday that I was there -.-” what utter disappointment)
