Hope

Don’t say things that show the intention of giving something, only to end the final conversation by saying ‘no’.

Why build up the hope, only to break it down?

Just say I don’t need it. Don’t go trying to sweet talk and console me by saying ‘Let’s check out another’.

And this isn’t the first time -_-. Even though it has happened so many times, you should think I would be numb and know better but I feel that I’ve been let down every.single.time.

That’s why I tell the naive one not to put too much hope when the naive one asks for something and gets a ‘I’ll think about it’. 95% of the time turns out to be a ‘no’.

So really, why bother hoping?

Being a class

Being a class means…

..having to endure the hardships together.
..helping one another.
..being able to enjoy each other’s company without ulterior motives.
..learning & growing together, sharing information found.
..being able to forgive & forget, things we are not proud of.
..working together to achieve goals one can never achieve on his/her own.

Having said that, this is what B107 is – a class. An awesome class of great people, who in future will become great pharmacists.

7%

I live my life to most of the statements, how about you?
Got this from an email:

Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old, of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio

“To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I’ve ever written.”
My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
4. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It’s more healing than crying alone.
8. It’s OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won’t screw up the present.
12. It’s OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don’t compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn’t be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don’t worry; God never blinks.
16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn’t useful, beautiful or joyful.
18. Whatever doesn’t kill you really does make you stronger.
19. It’s never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don’t take no for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don’t save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don’t wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words ‘In five years, will this matter?’
27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Don’t take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn’t do.
35. Don’t audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
36. Growing old beats the alternative — dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood.
38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else’s, we’d grab ours back.
41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
42. The best is yet to come.
43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
44. Yield.
45. Life isn’t tied with a bow, but it’s still a gift.

Its estimated 93% won’t forward this. If you are one of the 7% who will, forward this with the title ‘7%’.

Friends are the family that we choose for ourselves.

Of ‘Paddle pop’, ‘dinosaur egg’ & round-round ball-balls

A phone conversation many years ago..

‘Are you eating something? What are you eating?’ (me)
‘Mum made round-round ball-ball.’ (she-who-will-not-be-named)
‘WHAT??? What’s round-round ball-ball?’
‘There…you know that round, ball thing you eat during the festival..’
‘Tang yuen is it? HAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA’
‘Yeah yeah that one!! HAHHAHHAHA’

It was the winter solstice festival, also known as ‘Tang Chek’ in Hokkien. We asked Ah Mah Yeoh if she could make some since it’s been quite a while since I had some. We all had a hand in making them round and pwwwettyyyy (except Daddy – he had another “business” to handle LOL *coughtoiletbreakcough*) Here are the few shots I took during that night. Ah Mah Yeoh kept asking why I had to take so many photos, and why one of her kneading the dough. Xp

Min: When are we gonna start??
Ah Mah Yeoh putting strength into it :)

You and I? XD
Don’t they look like Mentos? Spot the ‘Paddle pop’s

The dinosaur egg – a Diplodoccus? Brontosaurus? or a T-rex? :)
The odd ones out..Lost?
Flawed? No, almost perfect with room for improvements :)
The final product..spot the paddle pop tang yuen? YUMMY!!!

Taking a swing

Day 3 in Bali – Dad decided to visit the driving range since we’re in the top golf resort in Bali. I, being a busy-body, tagged along together with Mummy and Min (Jasmine). Here are swing shots taken by Min (not bad for a 11-year old huh?)
Yeng mo?

Finishing’s a bit off on this one..

I know, wrong shoes…but Rubi’s were the only covered shoe I brought to Bali.
And now a candid shot for everyone, so that you know I’m human too ;)

Story: I stood up slightly when I was about to finish my swing, slicing it just above the ball, resulting with the ball pathetically rolling a meter off the spot…so I hurried after it -_- mind you, I stayed behind the yellow string thingie.

Now you can laugh all you want :) cos I laughed too looking at myself..heheh

The holiday spirit…

I love holidays, do you?
Holidays are meant to be spent with family and close friends. This year, Christmas will be with Grandmama Yeoh in Penang. It’s been a while since we celebrated Christmas in Penang. The last time we were there for Christmas, daddy got Grandmama Yeoh a suitcase bought from Yaohan, Komtar. HAHAHA amazing how I can remember that.

Anyway, the following photos are from our (E Bi and I) visit to Topshop’s Xmas Celebration in Pavillion. (Thanks for coming along E Bi :D)

and finally, the lollipop IMU’s CF gave me and a card waiting to be delivered :)

Have a blessed Christmas everyone!

Where am I going?

So, where am I going this weekend? heheheh….

Yes, that’s right, me going BALI!!!!!!
It’s been quite a while since the family took a holiday trip. Our last trip together was to Hong Kong in 2007? o.O
(Penang trips are not counted as holidays LOL..that’s visiting grandmamas)

I’ve heard good stories from two lads who have been there. Beautiful place :) I’ll come back with pics next week. Til then, TOODLES!!!..

By the way, I stumbled upon this guy’s blog and I love his photography. And he’s only 18. Have a read :)

Long lines….and panning o.O?

I’ve always wondered how photographers created the long lines of car lights on roads during the night and wished I could take shots like that. Well, wish no more, I had someone to teach me. Introducing, Sam, my night shot guru for the day.

Here are a few of the nicer shots that I managed. Others were just (in the words of the wise Yoon Wei) epic PHAIL photos LOL

Short lines with a slow shutter speed.
Longer lines with a slower shutter speed. I THINK this is a 1/6.

Some red lines. A clearer shot as compared to the earlier two.

* bear in mind, your camera must be very still, so rest it on a solid surface or a tripod to minimise movement.

This is what you get when your hand moves..Total light distortion but from my pov, my masterpiece Lollerskates :)

Next up, panning (?)…what Sam said about panning is that it gives the effect that the object in focus is sharp but everything around is blurred. See what my noob skills got me….NOTHING! I didn’t manage any PROPER shots. I was an epic PHAIL at panning shots. The following are probably taken by Sam :) I can’t remember XD

I think that last one was mine :)
So the cars were hard to do cos they were travelling quite fast. So maybe a car travelling at 50km/h would be perfect? or a walking stranger :) I shall try that next time.
